A Chubby Face, Finally!

I finally have a chubby baby. Since not being on the charts since his 2 week appointment I finally have a baby that, I think, is on the charts. I don't go in for a few more weeks but his cheeks say it all. He is so cute. All Ben ever does is smile, except when I get the camera out, of course! Jack actually calls him Smiles. That is his special name for him. Jack can get him laughing like no one else and the two of them have a very special relationship. He gives the best kisses and he gives them to me all the time. I am the luckiest mom in the world to have these cute little boys. I am grateful every day to my Heavenly Father for the blessing of being a mom. I am so blessed to stay home with them. There are days when it's hard, and a day away at work sounds great, but then you realize the payoffs. The long days (and nights) turn into tight hugs and big kisses. When they call your name when they are hurt or scared. When they tell you that they want to marry you when they grow up. It all pays off. Nothing makes me more happy then knowing that I get my family forever. That nothing, nothing can ever take them away from me. What a blessing!!

Cute Story

Me: "You didn't bring anything home from school today?" As I pick up his back pack and look inside it.

Jack: "Nope, the only thing I brought home was a hug!" As he runs over and gives me a huge hug!

Oh how I love that boy!

I love looking back at old pictures, and I really can't stop laughing at this one. I love it. Not only the Mr. Potato head glasses but he has such a big head that his little hoodie wouldn't fit over his head properly. He was only about fifteen months old and he knew how stinkin funny he was. This kid makes me laugh every day. He told me today, "Mommy, I love toots. Do you love toots? They are so funny!" I try really hard to keep a straight face and let him know that we don't have to talk about that kind of stuff, but it gets really hard. Brendan found him in the pantry climbing up the shelves. When Brendan asked him what he was doing he said he was looking for some chocolate chips because he was starving! The other day. "MOMMY" "What hun", I say as I walk around the corner to Jack bending over with his naked bottom in the air. "Do I have any poop between my bums?" (we are teaching him how to wipe himself). This little boy is the best, though inappropriate at times. They say laughing makes you live longer. I'm sure to reach 200!

Ribs

Now I am only posting about this because only woman read my blog, and this is pretty funny. My little Jack is a litte confused about ribs. This is what he calls a woman's chest. This all started when I started nursing Ben. I know he gets a little obsessed about things that we make a big deal about so I was very open with him about how I fed Ben. As soon as he came to see me in the hospital I showed him how I would feed him, his reply, "Ah Man, I wish I was a baby". I soon found out that Ben was allergic to milk and Chocolate. Thus my diet was changed and Jack loved to rub this in. "Mom, do you want some Chocolate." "I do, but I can't have any." "Oh yea, cause you feed Ben with your ribs. I don't feed Ben with my ribs so I can have chocolate." This is how it has been for the last few months. Then Valentines came and there are hearts everywhere. He got a reeses heart and when he saw it He said, "it looks like...." , I thought He was going to say a heart, instead, "it looks like ribs!" Every heart he sees has been ribs. I know I should tell him the right word, but I'm going to wait until his fasination goes away. I don't think everyone needs to know exactly what he is talking about. Please don't be offended if my child points out your ribs. It really would help if every advertisment and billboard didn't have a half naked woman on it!!!!

Dorothy

Jack got his first (and last) pet. He went on a field trip to Petsmart and they got to take a fish home. Jack named her Dorothy. He was really excited to show her our car and our house. He was a little concerned with how she would go to the bathroom since he could not find a bum on her. (If you know Jack, this was the first thing he looked for). I told him not to worry about it. If I would have explained it to him he would have been obsessed, and talked about it for way too long. He soon lost interest when he found out how stinky her food was, but still enjoyed talking to her on the counter. Brendan decided to feed Dorothy before we went to bed and I think she over ate. According to the directions Dorothy ate about 8 times more than she could handle. Needless to say, she lived about 12 hours with us and passed on. Jack was just fine and probably enjoyed flushing her down the toilet a little too much. Later I heard him explaining to Ben that he was sorry, but Dorothy had to die. This is the exact reason we should never have a dog!

"but no elephants!!"

For Christmas my parents gave us a book called "But No Elephants!". I loved this book when I was little and it is so fun to watch Jack and Ben love it too. This is last night when Brendan was reading the book to the boys. Ben was so engaged. He wouldn't even look away from the pages, even when the flash went off. There is a part when she yells "but no elephants!" and Jack loves to yell it too. Even Ben made a noise when that part came up and heard Jack yelling. I love these boys, aren't they the cutest! Thanks mom and dad. These books will be cherished forever.

4 months old

My little Benner is four months old. I can't believe it. He has been such a joy in our lives and I can't imagine my life without him. He smiles all the time. I love it. The poor kid was in a lot of pain until we figured out what he could and couldn't eat ( I mean what I could and couldn't eat). It has been one of my greatest joys to watch Jack have a little brother. He treats him like gold. He calls him his little Benny ball, and always tells him they are best buds. I can tell that Jack will always watch out for him and it does my heart good to know that they will always have each other. I am looking forward to the next few months. There are so many milestones that He will be going through, but part of me will miss the little baby that is growing up so fast.
